Nessus vulnerability scan

Today, the volume of vulnerabilities in the network and web space has reached such a level that even security experts can hardly find the vulnerabilities in a network by spending months. Hence, scanners can be introduced as a helper for security experts.
Nessus was launched in 1998. Initially, it was developed as a free remote security scanner software, but then it was proprietary by Renaud Derision, the developer of Nessus and the owner of a company called Tenable Network Security. For personal use, this scanner software is free, but for commercial use, you have to pay $1,200 per scanner per year. The original application of Nessus was provided for the ability to scan the user's security. Like Nmap, which could do network discovery. Unlike Nmap, this tool is designed to identify vulnerabilities by scanning the network. In this tool, when checking some vulnerabilities, if Safe Mode is disabled, it may damage the system, in this regard, network administrators subject a system to scanning before it enters the production cycle.
The capabilities of this scanner are:
• Scanning ability to run multiple scans at the same time
• Very high detection speed
• Assessment and determination of vulnerability status
• Detection of Trojans and botnets
• Support for cloud platforms and virtualization
• Passive vulnerability discovery
• It has an engine for aggregating and comparing scan results and logs
• And ...
• The non-commercial version of this software is free and can scan up to 16 IP addresses at the same time. But its commercial versions require payment.
This tool uses a web user interface to connect users and it allows network administrators to create multiple users. One of the interesting things about Nessus is that it has the ability to create a policy in such a way that it scans certain specifications such as: what security plugins are used, types of port scanning, any credentials that may be needed, etc. However, a scan can be purposeful and policy-driven, as a purpose itself gives us access
